POST

Hey Elegant here are the two students that I need the responses back to in two days or ASAP…5 hours agoJennifer Endriss RE: Discussion – Week 2COLLAPSEA human services generalist is a person who uses the breadth of their knowledge, experience, research abilities, and professional network to help a client move toward a healthier, more stable, or more fulfilling life. Human service professionals recognize that individuals and the problems they face are not isolated, but part of a complex set of systems. (Schram et al., 2019). Holistic care, also identified as wrap-around services (National Wraparound Initiative, 2018), is client-centered instead of agency-centered. Holistic care would help Jean because he has identified several interconnected areas of his life that he would like assistance with. For example, Jean mentioned he needs to take care of his family, preferably through a carpentry job. A human services professional may be able to connect him with employment resources by referring him to the Unemployment and Career Office. Jean discussed his need for community relationships and a church. The worker could provide a list of local churches and a referral to Spiritual Life Link to get him connected to a faith community. In addition, if Jean was open to it, the human services practitioner could help him apply for Good Times daycare for his two and four-year-old children, or introduce his wife and children to the Family Services Center. In addition to the resources currently available in Hart City, the human services worker could also assess Jean for depression. I would like to see the Community Center host a drop-in mental health counseling office where individuals and families could come for assessment, referrals, guidance, and short-term treatment. I would also love to see the community center host a Food Bank access point. There could be one area where families access weekly boxes of emergency food supplies and hygiene products and another area where they receive assistance in applying for WIC, SNAP, or other community nutrition services either online or by having paper applications provided. If the Food Bank access point was made available, Jean may be able to improve his family’s short-term and long-term food security. National Wraparound Initiative. (2018, August 22). Pp. 27.5 hours agoPatrick Wheeler RE: Discussion – Week 2COLLAPSEBeing a generalist in the field of human services means being able to understand and provide services for a wide variety of individuals and their respective cases. These services must be provided within the lens of different cultures, perspectives, situations, and outcomes. Understanding and utilizing a multitude of strategies is vital in the field when supplying generalist services. Being equipped with general knowledge of how to assist others will allow an Advanced Human Services Practitioner to accurately and practically help clients. In the cases involving Jean in Hart City, generalist and holistic care are required. Applying generalist care is important because he comes to the service provider with multiple issues. Jean explains how he cannot find work as a carpenter since his relocation to Hart City. With the job search taking up much of his time, he has not been able to dedicate any to finding a new church. I believe focusing on helping Jean find a new church would require generalist and holistic care. Understanding his new social environment, it would be important to understand what religion Jean practices. Then a service user could recommend churches in the area that promote his denomination. Understanding that Jean wants his young children to interact with others their age would play a factor in figuring out which church may be the best fit for his family. Taking the generalist approach of realizing his culture and background would also allow the service provider the opportunity to seek out other Haitians who may be able to relate to Jean and help him feel more comfortable.  Jean proposed a unique situation where he not only wanted to find a new church, he wanted his children to be exposed to social stimulation. I would propose a service in which the Human Services Agency, and the Family Services agency would collaborate to provide a space where families with children can meet. My role  as the creator of the collaboration would be helping facilitate and fund the space. It would involve informative resources on spiritual happenings withing the community, while also allowing families to meet each other. The goal would be to spark friendships and relationships with each other using religion as the foundation. Therefore, moving forward, families with young children new to the community who also have religious interests will be able to get the help and interaction with others that they need, all at the same time. …
