STRATEGIC CASE ANALYSIS – ALPHA COMPANY

This individual assignment requires students to analyze a given case study of an organization

in order to relate the strategic management concepts and stages in organization through case

studies. The project helps you to understand the practical applications of strategic management.

To complete the assignment, you are expected to include additional information from other

recent sources, such as newspapers, academic journals, company’s annual reports, books and

etc.

Step Content – Section Headings & Outline

1. Describe a brief background of the company (history, management team,

products/services, etc.).

2. Prepare the following as appropriate [minimum any TWO (2)]:

a. Strengths-Weaknesses-Opportunities-Threats (SWOT) Matrix,

b. Strategic Position and Action Evaluation (SPACE) Matrix,

c. Boston Consulting Group (BCG) Matrix,

d. Internal-External (IE) Matrix,

e. Grand Strategy Matrix

3. Prepare the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM).

Discuss some advantages and disadvantages of the alternative strategies.

4. Recommend specific strategies for the organization. Compare your

recommendations to the actual strategies planned by the company.

5. Specify how your recommendations can be implemented and what results you

can expect.

6. Recommend procedures for strategy review and evaluation.

7. Conclusion

Written Report:

• Number of pages: 20 – 25 pages (excluding cover page, content page, reference and

appendix)

• 1.5 spacing and font size 11, Times New Roman.

• Indicate clearly the selected company, student’s full name and ID number on the

cover page of the report. The group is advised to use the cover page attached

• Deadline for submission of assignment is on 5th December 2022 (Monday), before 5

p.m. (MYT)

• The report is to be submitted in soft copy format in the Open Learning page.

• Late assignments will not be accepted under any circumstances.
