Context:
This assignment will ask you to collect, interpret, and present information. This assignment also requires analysis (deciding on the key facts and sorting them into categories) and synthesis (rearranging the evidence to find patterns; drawing conclusions; making interpretations).

Your task:
Congratulations! The Intergalactic Association of Time-Lords has asked you to help them with their upcoming exhibit, “Five Things that Define the Times.”
Specifically, they want you to help the intergalactic community understand the period 1945 – 1991 on that exotic and out-of-the-way planet, Earth. They have strict rules.
Step 1
You must select five events, people, ideas, objects, artworks, wars, buildings, etc., that you think will reveal or express some important, significant, or notable aspect of what was going on around the world from about 1945 to about 1991.
Step 2
Provide an image or symbol (or if this is a problem, a description) of your five choices, and give basic identifying information such as who, what, when, where and the reason you chose that one thing.
Note:
Most of your essay for the exhibit should then explain how your choices, all taken together or in smaller groupings of two or three, express or reveal the largest, broadest, or most crucial processes or developments of this eventful time on Earth.
Choose wisely! The Time-Lords are temperamental and the last people that disappointed them were sent to a galaxy far away and long ago.
