Research Project Outline / Analysis
Depending on what you have chosen to do for your research project you are to either submit an outline or play analysis with a brief description of your project.
This assignment is worth
100 Points
Please upload your Outline/Analysis to Canvas before or by the due date listed on your Syllabus. This should be on a Word Document, Double Spaced with a 12-point font.
If you have chosen to write a persuasive research paper you will submit an outline.
I will then give you feedback via Canvas if this topic is appropriate, if you have a strong Thesis Statement and if you have found reliable sources. Please check Canvas after the Outlines are graded!!! If I give you feedback and you have not applied it to your Research Paper, points will be deducted accordingly.
The Outline should include:
- Subject (25 Points)
- Thesis Statement (25 Points)
- Three Major Points you are going to discuss in your paper (25 Points)
- 3 Sources listed in MLA format as they will be listed in your Works Cited Page (25 Points)
You may keep it as simple as this:

It’s worth reiterating that a
strong thesis statement (Links to an external site.)
is specific. If you find yourself using general words like “good,” then you’re not digging deep enough.
For example, saying “European travel is a good way to spend your summer,” is not specific enough. Why is European travel good? Further examine the heart of your
topic (Links to an external site.)
and focus on very specific areas of European travel that you can realistically cover and support with solid evidence.
“Solo European travel requires independence which, in the end, bolsters personal confidence.” This is much more specific and targeted. Now, you can hone in your research on solo travel through Europe, the need for independence, and its positive effect on personal confidence.

3 Sources, properly written as you will write them in your Works Cited Page (Final paper requires 4)

If you have chosen one of the more creative projects:
You are to choose a play (not that we have or will work on in class), read it, and complete an analysis in preparation for your project. Identify what you will be doing and what resources you will use to complete the project.
