ABOUT THE PROJECT
This ‘About the Project’ section should:
• set out the research question, aim and objectives of your research.
• explain why this is an interesting or worthwhile research for your group to research.
What is the background and rationale for choosing this topic ?

Why is it worth exploring? eg. Who can benefit from your research ?
Research title:
New Business Strategies of Chinese Restaurants during Pandemic Period
Research question:
What kinds of new business strategies are supposed to be executed by the restaurants to operate well during pandemic period?
Project aim:
Our project is to explore new business strategies for Chinese restaurants during pandemic period.
Objectives:
1)
Study what kinds of measures the restaurants take can guarantee the customers’ health security during the pandemic period with the combination of public health and the costs.
2)
Study what kinds of measures the restaurants take will bother the customers least be collecting the feedback from the customers.
3)
Study how to achieve the recovery of the customer flow volume as previously. We will give some suggestions about promotions after the research.
Rationale for undertaking the project: (a brief background and management problem of your chosen SME or organization should be provided here)
Our group members sometimes went to a Chinese restaurant call Tai’er Fish for dinner before the COVID-19 crisis. The restaurant has dining tables holding four people each at most and provides delicious fish cuisine. At that time, we could line up closely without much social distance and eat with friends without eating separately. Considering the epidemic prevention has been normalized in recent months, we realize that Chinese restaurants have been significantly influenced in operations and earnings. Tai’er Fish is no exception. We notice that the customer flow volume of it has decreased in recent years, and the health measures against epidemics seems to cost much costs and sometimes bother the customers. Therefore, our projects aims to come up with some new strategies for the restaurant we like and help create a balance between health measures and costs and recover the previous customer flow volume. We believe the results of the research are also helpful to other Chinese restinformation/New folder/Bb Topic 10 Collecting Quantitative Data.pdf

Introduction
‘A significant part of the research process entails
convincing others of the significance and validity of
one’s findings’ (Bryman and Bell, 2007)
Quantitative research will involve the use of
numerical data
Quantitative analysis might involve the creation of
simple tables or diagrams to show the frequency of
occurrence to establishing relationships between
variables
