In this small group assignment, you will assume the role of an outsider, observing the culture of an organization and its relationship to the performance of its members. As a group, select one of the following case studies: 1) Greenhill Community Center (Links to an external site.), 2) Managing Organizations in Unusual and Uncertain Conditions: The Environmental Protection Agency’s Recovery Act Steward Plan (Links to an external site.), 3) The Muni Equipment Maintenance Division (Links to an external site.), or 4) Donald Rumsfeld and Prisoner Abuse at Abu Ghraib (Links to an external site I attached the doc see attachement.).
After reading your case, post your thoughts to your group forum on the connections between organizational culture and organizational performance that you observed in the case. Draw on the article “Penetrating the Performance Predicament” to discuss in your group the connection between performance and culture. Consider how the authors operationalize the concept of organizational culture. Analyze the connections using evidence in the case to support your explanation.
Once your group has come to a consensus, present your analysis of the connections between organizational culture and organizational performance as a one-page memo. Be sure your assignment is double-spaced, uses 12-point font, and is a Microsoft Word document.
