The literature review should have the following sections:
Page 1: Title page
Page 2: Abstract
Pages 3-7: Body of the review: Introduction, Review, Conclusions (5 double spaced pages at the minimum). Exceeding the stated number of pages is acceptable and welcome; however, a shorter review will receive much less credit or zero credit.
Page 8: References
You must use at least 5 original research articles from PUBMED Links to an external site.. Exceeding the stated number of articles is again acceptable and welcome; however, a review that has used less than 5 original articles will receive much less credit or zero credit.
You are free to use any source to advance your knowledge on the topic. However, when writing the review, you MUST NOT cite any other source that includes other databases, Internet pages (e.g. webmd, mayoclinic.org), blogs, press reports, etc. except PUBMED Links to an external site.. Only citations from PUBMED Links to an external site. will be accepted. Failure to follow this instruction will result in reduced or zero credit.
You must use only ORIGINAL research articles. Editorials, review articles, meta-analyses, perspectives, blogs, commentaries, opinions, press articles etc. will not be accepted. If you are unsure about what an original research article is, please review the materials in Modules 2 and 3. You may also contact the FGCU librarian or myself for help. Failure to follow this instruction will result in reduced or zero credit.
References can be in APA Links to an external site. or PUBMED format Links to an external site.. In-text citations should be used.
You are not allowed to copy and paste. You must paraphrase. Also, no more than 10% of your paper may consist of quoted material. Since TURNITIN Links to an external site. is being used, any copied or quoted material will show up and will affect your similarity score.
