I will go back and add more individualized experiences as a teacher that relates to all the lesson planning experience and curriculum I have been using.

Topic 1: The Course Explorer
During my research of my degree plan I was able to find three courses that I would be able to use in my portfolio. Prior to enrolling in this class I had already been aware of the courses I was going to petition. Since, I transferred in several credits, this limited me to courses that I can apply in EL206. When, I was using the course explorer to search key terms I used the course description names and the course ID. I found it to be much faster by just typing in the course ID. However, when I went back to see what I would find by entering key words I used: stress, theory, and abnormal. All of those words are in the title of the courses I am petitioning. After, reviewing a few other classmates discussions, it seemed that our strategies were similar.
Topic 2: Course Description and Outcomes in Course Explorer
This is one of the courses I am petitioning for.

The course description states what the course is about and the information that will be learned. The course outcome portrays exactly what will be learned and how it can be applied through comparing, analyzing, evaluating, and developing. I feel that my experiential learning will support this class because of my five plus years of experience as a behavioral health technician working in drug and alcohol treatment facilities that are dual diagnosis. I have taken several training seminars in mental health disorders, legal and ethical issues within the dual diagnosis field. On a daily basis I work with several clients who not only suffer from addiction but have severe mental health problems. I have additional training’s that fall under mental health that can be added to my expanded resume and learning autobiography.
