Instructions
When you complete your Judging Form, turn in a one page paper (not judging form) that highlights the following information from your judging form (once again, you keep the form):
1. Write out the Proposition that you believe was the focus for this Debate.
2. Write out two Stock Issues you heard stated within the Debate?
3. What was the Status Quo within this Debate?
4. What side had the Burden of Proof and can you identify what was the Burden of Proof?
5. Identify what you believed was the best argument for each speaker:
1st Affirmation (or 1st Proposition)
1st. Opposition
2nd Affirmative
2nd Opposition
6. Did you hear any Cross Examination or questions asked during the Debate? Identify two questions heard.
7. From the list of fallacies (mistakes in reasoning), what two mistakes in reasoning did you hear in any of the speaker’s argumentation.
8. Finally, Who do you believe had the Best Delivery and why? Also, What team do you believe won the debate and why?
9. Returning to the Module – Watch about 10 minutes of the Additional Debate Videos. Do you think you would be able to judge this Debate? What did you think about this format vs. the one you judged?
