Chapter 9:  Questions 3 and 7 

3. Determine the number of rolls of 15-pound asphalt-impregnated felt needed for the roof in Figure 9-11. The felt is to be lapped 6 inches on the side and 12 inches on the ends. The felt is available in rolls 3 feet wide with 4 squares (400 square feet) per roll. The slope on the roof is 6:12.

7. How many square feet of wall insulation are needed to insulate 175 feet of a 10-foot-high wall? The stud spacing is 24 inches on center.
