Once the carotid artery and jugular vein are located, I would use the aneurysm hook to raise each while using string to tie them off individually. I would then use scissors to make a small incision in the carotid artery before inserting the arterial tube. I would also use an arterial hemostat to tie it off as well. I would then use scissors to make a small snip into the jugular vein right before inserting a groove director. I would then use a pair of angular spring forceps between the wall of the vein and the groove director. I would move the groove director in (open) and out (closed) to remove blood clots while draining.
