Leadership And the Role of Organizational Culture
Leadership and the significance of organizational culture have long been of interest in the business sector. The two aspects are vital to the quality of a company. Lasrado and Kassem study the relationship between transformational leadership, organizational culture, and organizational excellence (2020). In this paper, I will detail the study's research, methodology, results, and limitations and evaluate how it will contribute to my final research report.
Lasrado and Kassem's (2020) research examines the relationship between transformational leadership, business culture, and outstanding performance. The research draws on data from a survey of 448 UAE-based participants, each of whom was asked to complete a multi-item scale questionnaire. This research seeks to provide light on the connection between transformational leadership and engaged culture, with organizational excellence as its major emphasis.
The study used a quantitative methodology to probe the nexus between transformative leadership, company culture, and superior performance. Volunteers came from various fields, including medicine, teaching, and the hospitality business. Researchers gathered information from participants using a questionnaire with multiple-item scales. Questions on transformative leadership, company culture, and high performance were included in the survey instrument.
Researchers theorized that if companies invested in cultivating a culture of involvement, their staff would become more involved and invested in the company. The researchers checked the hypothesis using structural equation modeling (SEM) and route analyses. Mplus software was used to do the statistical analysis. The survey questionnaire assessed transformational leadership, corporate culture, and organizational excellence as factors.
The research concluded that fostering a culture of involvement in the workplace increases employee participation and commitment. It showed that companies led by transformational leaders and characterized by a culture of participation or flexibility had the best chance of achieving organizational excellence. It was shown that organizational excellence is significantly affected by the interplay between transformational leadership and organizational culture. Authoritarian leadership may be necessary at the outset of a culture's development, but the research found that this perception changes throughout time. The authors argue that leaders should embrace a transformational leadership style and promote an engagement culture to fully realize the advantages of quality management strategies. They emphasize the value of employee input in decision-making, the necessity of a pleasant work environment, and the need for leaders who can inspire and encourage their teams.
However, the study's contributions to the field of quality management are restricted by its emphasis on one style of leadership. It is based on the United Arab Emirates and transformative leadership. For this reason, it is possible that the results of this study cannot be extrapolated to other settings, and further research is required to investigate the findings. The research might be expanded to include different forms of leadership and various geographies.
I may utilize this information as part of my capstone project to investigate how transformational leadership and company culture affect performance. I may expand on the results of this research to show how the three topics are interconnected. I may use the study as a starting point for thinking about how a transformational leadership style and an engagement culture can operate in the context of various sectors and geographical areas.
In conclusion, Flevy Lasrado and Rassel Kassem's research offers useful insights into the connection between transformative leadership, organizational culture, and organizational excellence. The research underlines the need to foster an engagement culture and adopt a transformational leadership style to achieve organizational success. The study's limitations imply that more research is required to understand these linkages completely. However, the results of this study may serve as a basis for future research in the pursuit of organizational excellence.
