500 hours of content is uploaded every hour
The 5 most popular categories of videos are:

Trends in 2022
Short videos – Tik Tok and Instagram both operate with short, vertical videos and have been incredibly popular. The average video consumer prefers short-form videos 2.5x more than longer videos. Attention spans are deteriorating and consumers are more inclined to watch short clips. Shorts are being used as a promotional tool for existing channels and products.
Live streams – Established Youtube brands can interact with their followers in real time answering their questions. This helps create a connection between content creator and follower that leads to more viewership.

Consistency & Persistence
The keys to growing a channel and a following
Obstacles
Masses of content and related content offer plenty of competition and videos get buried in the platform
Making quality videos is very time consuming and profitable content creators must work on videos full time to achieve any level of financial success
YouTube algorithm presents videos to viewers based on their history and personalization. This makes it difficult for content creators to access new demographics
Creative Process
The steps in video production
Divergent thinking
Convergent thinking
Adhere to virality & popular categories
Value Proposition Canvas
Step 1: Divergent Thinking
The initial plan was to come up with as many peculiar and/or “crazy” video ideas as possible
Backflips, extreme sports, extreme recipes came to mind
Step 2: Convergent thinking
I then realized how impractical and difficult it would be to implement these ideas into a video so I rethought my ideas using the parameter “practical”
Cooking, public speaking, dog-training, and other “how-to” concepts were then generated
These ideas align with my abilities and I can demonstrate these in a practical manner
Step 3: YouTube Adherence
Based on my research, for a video to be viewed by the masses it must achieve a level of virality.
This is best achieved through alignment with the most popular video categories and incorporating factors such as humour and other emotional responses into the video
This lead me to creating a “how-to” video of my own as this fits with the most popular category on YouTube
