When I worked at McDonalds, there are two managers to watch over the shifts during their assigned time. There was always this one manager who kept making the other manager do all the work while they either just stood there commanding or going to the back room sitting on a chair. Many of the employees wondered why the manager was like this and all felt bad for the other manager so they all helped out and reported the lazy manager.

In a recent position, our higher management consisted largely of men. Unfortunately, there were several distinct occurrences of sexism that were displayed not only to management but to the entire company during one the staff meetings. What was said had no reason to be said and caused huge backlash, to where higher management had to address the comment. It was an uncomfortable situation that could have been avoided – just don't say those type of things ever!!!

The Board Chairman of the clinic where I volunteer and am on the board, took time off from his position to help a sick family member. Part of his job as the chairman is to renew the clinic license. When he left the board, he didn’t delegate this responsibility to anyone else on the board. One of the board members called him repeatedly for help renewing the clinic’s license. The chairman didn’t respond to the calls. The board members wanted me to call the chairman’s wife for help, but she is very sick with terminal cancer. I didn’t want to bother her because of this, but the clinic is in a dangerous situation. Without a license, the clinic cannot operate.
