Hello everyone,
My name is Dustin and I live in New Hampshire’s Dartmouth College region. I am pursuing a BA in
Business Admin. With a concentration in Project Management. I am currently the supervisor of a Failure
Analysis and Prevention team for a subsidiary of Fujifilm working in the digital printing industry. I also
work part-time in the summers as a greenskeeper and running league play at a local course. In my spare
time, I run a small e-commerce business selling golf apparel with a couple of friends.
In my experience, technology is critical to the successful operation of a business as it improves
efficiency, communication, and can reduce cost when executed properly. This is not a hard and fast rule
however, some small businesses can function without technology, but incorporating it may simplify
some of their processes. In my company, we use several platforms to manage workflow and
communications within the company as well as to eternal customers. While we are leveraging
technology daily, we currently are not executing efficiently as an organization. This may not be the time
to dig into that so I will focus on what my team is doing well.
In early 2020 when the COVID pandemic set in and working remotely became the standard, my team
lost its ability to organize and manage our work in person. We quickly responded by incorporating a
cloud-based project management platform that allowed us to assign and follow project and task
progress digitally in real-time. Having shown success early on inspired other teams in the organization to
adopt the platform so that several engineering departments, our quality department, and a portion of
our customer support staff allowed for easy project collaboration when faced with the challenges of
limited in-person communication.
Looking forward to learning with you all over the next 8 weeks!

Hello my name is Nekelia Brown my family and friends call me ”Nikki”, I am a single mom of 3 from
Texas and I am currently pursuing my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration w/
Entrepreneurship. The role of technology in business today is remarkable because in 2022 we have
not only calculators but computers to keep things organized for customer and market data. In any
business the decision making is a crucial process. We need technology to streamline the decision
making process. For example e-business and e-commerce: A business using the internet to deliver
information, services, and products. Think of Amazon, third party businesses, you can simply go to the
website choose the items ,input name address details and the orders are delivered directly to you.
Todays technology is used to improve communication in a business, it can also be used to improve
production, improve customer care, innovation, and facilitate quick decision making, marketing, and
so much more.
