Important Information about Academic Integrity
It is essential that you follow the conventions of academic integrity in a UK university. Therefore,
please ensure that you read the following carefully.
You are expected to complete research on the topic of your essay by reading the sources provided
and others that you find. However, you have to report the ideas from the reading in your own
words, and you have to explain where the ideas came from. There are conventions for doing this,
and these will be taught to you.
This module assesses the standard of your language. Therefore, you are not permitted to use any
help in terms of proof reading. Using a proof reader, either through a professional service, a
translation tool or a friend, will be seen as an academic offence.
You are absolutely not permitted to use essays or sections of essays written by anyone else. This
includes paid services or essays written by other students. This is a serious offense and could lead to
your removal from the university.
You are not allowed to submit the same essay, or parts of the same essay, to other modules.

shared canvas course, “assessment” section.
