My Idea
I plan to create a Universal Healthcare Software which will be simple, safe, and easily
accessible to all stakeholders. My main objective on this plan is to sell the healthcare providers
and stakeholders software that covers the general healthcare businesses and promotes the growth
of healthcare. It has come to my realization that most of the healthcare software provided by other
software developers is more specific. They only help the healthcare stakeholders in fulfilling
specified tasks. Therefore, this gap motivated me to develop software that will fill the gap in that
it will enable the healthcare stakeholders to conduct any task using the software.
Also, I have realized that when you purchase software, it rarely fits all your needs perfectly
and simultaneously. You’re forced to keep purchasing several other software to be able to achieve
all your goals. Not to mention, you always have to waste time with so many subscriptions in other
software, regular updates, and always enquiring from customer service on how to operate the
software.
Therefore, I minimize all these challenges using the Universal Healthcare Software. My
idea is to ensure the software address all the issues. It will fit all the client’s needs perfectly and
simultaneously. It will also have fewer updates requiring fewer subscriptions, and I will also ensure
that the software is easy to use so that our clients won’t have to be calling customer care all the
time.
With the Universal Healthcare Software, our clients will have acquired a long-lasting
solution to their existing systems to run their healthcare services smoothly and add better
functionality to their systems. The software will be flexible to blend with the client’s systems
3
easily. It will be adoptive to enable the client to acquire the right software for their services. It is
also comprehensive in that it covers all the client’s needs. And also innovative in that it will be
addressing all the current issues affecting healthcare facilities.
How the idea aligns with the company’s strategic plan
Our strategy is to make our client’s business grow; therefore, we have made it our
responsibility to help other companies grow by making their business and operations much more
manageable. Therefore, my idea of developing Universal Healthcare Software aligns with my
company’s business strategy because the software I will create will help our clients grow by making
their healthcare systems more manageable and more efficient.
SWOT
Strengths
Universal Healthcare Software has some of the top programs that will support top project
managers in healthcare facilities and customer support. There is a data management system in the
software that will enable you to have access to everything concerning healthcare. This will allow
the healthcare facility to have a good communication path with the patients; the patients can also
use it to track their progress, access medical assistance remotely, and enable ease of supply of all
medical resources available.
Weaknesses
Every software is also not always perfect, and they all pose several challenges to the client
while in use (Suryateja, 2018) One challenge with the software is that it is prone to malpractice
concerns. If the data is not stored correctly by the user, they may lose it entirely or transfer it
4
incorrectly. Similarly, if the data is not updated frequently, the receiver may receive the wrong
information.
Opportunities
By purchasing the software, the client will be able to have a smooth workflow, organize
their information so they can easily access any data from the cloud storage, and only be needed to
purchase one software that will be enough for all their needs. Therefore, they can concentrate more
on growing their business.
Threats
All computerized technologies are prone to cyber insecurities, and they can be easily
hacked if not well handled, and the Universal Healthcare Software is not an exception (Lezzi et
al., 2018). Therefore, the software poses the company the threat of losing their data to hackers who
may leak it publicly, hence exposing their confidential information.
Competitors and market challenges
Competitors
In today’s modern works, all industries have abandoned the manual way of conducting
business, and now they have adopted information technology devices and systems such as software
(Al-Surmi et al., 2020). Hence the demand for software is very high today, and most companies
are now developing unique software. Therefore, while introducing my software, I know I will have
multiple competitors, but I can make it to the top.
I believe my major competitor will be the Electronic Health Records software in healthcare.
The HER software is the most popular in the healthcare industry, and most healthcare providers
5
prefer it to other software. There is also the Medical Database Software which is also common
though not as much as EHR, but also it is more preferred.
However, I plan to do my research deeper and better so that I can identify multiple ways
to beat the two leading software so that I can be at the top. I believe competition is healthy because
it makes us more creative and innovative.
Market challenges
Another issue I will be dealing with is marketing my idea. The marketing regulations are
pretty unbearable in the healthcare industry, making many developers give up. For instance, there’s
the issue of HIPAA compliance. Every developer must adhere to the complex regulations that
touch every sector of healthcare. We are restricted from using certain remarketing ads to protect
users’ confidentiality (Mbonihankuye et al., 2020).
Also, the plan requires a tight marketing budget because it’s a new idea. More funds will
be necessary to educate healthcare facilities on the software and the essential campaigns or
customers to know the software.
Selling the idea to the world
First, I will be selling the idea by selling advertising it on paid ads on every social media
platform so that more people can learn about it and request for purchase after seeing the ad. Also,
I will be offering a trial version to every potential client so that when they like it, they can now
purchase the software.
Solid plan
6
A solid plan is very crucial in every project. Therefore, I will ensure my plan is solid by
providing to include details such as my vision, context details, the tasks the project should deliver,
the necessary resources to complete the whole project, proper budget, proper documentation, and
also a good description of the target customers and description of the software (Wagenblatt, 2019).
I will also ensure to research all legalities required by the government while introducing a new
healthcare software.
Notably, for my plan to be solid, I will ensure that it addresses why the customers need my
idea, why I will need sponsorship, and the problems the idea will be address. I will also ensure it
addresses the people involved and their roles and responsibilities. Most importantly, I will provide
accurate details on the project timelines.
Key differentiator
I believe What will make my software stand out is its brand name, “Universal .”The title
will attract universal means comprehensive; therefore, many clients will quickly understand that
it can cover all their needs. My software is specific on their services; however, my software will
be different because its brand name speaks for itself by stating that it helps cover all the company
needs.
