What are possible major disruptions? How will you advise on adoption? How will you address the training of employees? How will you ensure security to embrace emerging technologies?

Whenever an organization introduces new technology the major issue is how familiar are the employees of the organization in using the technology. Organization needs to create a mechanism that incorporates the rules on how an application/ technology should be used. Employees are needed to be trained on how to protect the data of the organization and why it is important to provide privacy to the customer’s data. The training program should have numerous sessions and drills to make sure employee understands the protocols and rules set by the guide. There should be a constant feedback on how employees are doing in the training sessions and double verifications must be done that employees are understanding and following the protocols correctly. The main objective of this training program should be to make employee understand why it is important to provide security and privacy to the organization’s information and what can the employee do to achieve that.

Gejo Franklin:

Regarding emerging technologies, how are these issues reflected: employment practices, human and environmental rights, corruption, privacy, and the moral obligation of corporations?

Organization should create a portfolio regarding to emerging technologies and address various issues that can disrupt emerging technologies at workplace. With introduction of emerging technologies there will be fear mongering among the employees about their jobs. There should be transparency on how organization is going to deal with the way of work environment at the organization with new technologies with employees, how can they help employees in adopting the technologies. It is important for an organization to keep human and environmental rights in mind before introducing any emerging technologies in the workspace. Carbon emission and energy usage are key things that needs to be considered for environmental rights and always needs to follow human centric approach in the process of introducing the emerging technologies. With the help of the new technologies it should not be difficult preventing corruptions and any wrongful act needs to be identified and addressed immediately. Privacy is key aspect in protecting data or the information of the organization, customers and employees and employees of the organization needs to be trained and should understand why protecting the data is important.

How does this emerging technology align with the business goals? What skills are required to implement the new technology?

How will technology integrate with other systems and processes in your organization?

Meet with the organization heads to evaluate a technology and if it aligns the business needs of the organization. Evaluate the risk factors, cost and disruptions of the technology. Evaluate the skills of the current employees of the organization, what additional skills are needed to adopt the new technology. Create required training programs to make employees understand the technologies and hire new employees if needed. Come up with a detailed plan and analysis in integrating new technologies in existing work environment. There should be gradual takeover of the technology, every employee should feel comfortable in using the new technology, proper training and resources should be created so that they can be used as references any time.

How to address security and risk management when emerging technologies are used?

Security and risk management are important steps that needed to be considered while using emerging technologies. Before introducing any disruptive technologies, one needs to build protocols and process of using the technology. They should understand the technology and able to differentiate if it is disruptive or sustaining. It is important to well make sure the technology satisfies business need and proper training needs to be given to the employees at the organization for using the technology and make them understand the importance of security and privacy.
