Case Study Assignment
The topic of the Case assignment is on the rise of mental health issues in the prison setting. The video link listed below will help you start thinking about the key issues related to the Case Assignment topic:

In the Case Assignment, you will then write a 5-7 page research paper (excluding cover and reference pages). You must cite at least 4-6 resources from the class, the Touro library or your own research to support your arguments in the research paper. Your paper will address the following:
Provide an introduction that lists the main points of your paper and describes how you will go about addressing the main issues in the assignment.
Identify and explain reasons why there has been a significant rise in mental health issues in prison settings. (This section plus your Introduction should be about 1-1.5 pages long)
Based on our readings and videos (and your own research) describe some methods of providing mental health care in prison settings and also some of the challenges of providing mental health care in prison settings. (This section should be about 1.5-2 pages long)
Based on our readings and videos (and your own research) provide some ideas for techniques to help the rehabilitation of incarcerated individuals, aid in their reintegration into their local community upon release from prison and/or reduce recidivism rates. (This section should be about 1.5-2 pages long)

Student Self-Reflective Essay
The purpose of the Student Self-Reflective Essay is to reflect upon what one has learned or how one has performed as compared with one’s expectations or goals.
At the end of each course, we ask students to respond to five (5) statements. In your essay please respond in sequential order to the five (5) statements below. There is no requirement for length when responding to each statement.
1. Descriptions of how you feel you improved your knowledge, skills, abilities, and yourself in this session through this course.
2. Evaluation of the work you did during the session for the class and explanations of ways you could have performed better.
