CASE STUDY ANALYSIS
Objectives:
Study real-world scenarios in which you are approached by potential clients with questions regarding the publishing and distribution of their entertainment media content.

Analyze the questions and provide relevant and appropriate answers based on what you have learned in class.

The goal of the assignment is to read and analyze the scenarios and provide appropriate responses to questions. Review all applicable material covered in the textbook and slides to help you with your understanding and analysis of the issues. You will need to apply the material learned in a detailed and specific manner. Be sure to answer all questions in full, and provide appropriate sources/citations, including the textbook, using APA format.

As you conduct your research, consider the following:

Who is your potential audience?

How will your answers benefit the potential client?

Instructions:

1. For this assignment, please read the introductory material for each scenario carefully. Use it to help you structure your analysis and response. This assignment has multiple parts with questions each worth one (1) point. Please be sure to complete all questions in all parts of the assignment.

2. Type your answers directly onto the document or on a separate Word document. Please include the original questions along with your answers.

3. Review applicable material covered in the text and the slides to help with your analysis and synthesis of the issues presented. You will need to apply the material learned in an organized, detailed manner. Be sure to answer all questions in full, using correct terminology.

4. Along with your answers, provide proper citations for any source(s) you used to locate the material, including the textbook, using appropriate APA format. Consider:

* Who is the target audience? * What specific legal and/or economic issues are raised? * How are these issues handled in the industry? * What common industry practices should be addressed, such as contract terms, royalty rates, appropriate parties, and so on? * How might you relate these scenarios to class discussions, readings, notes or knowledge?

Deliverable:

Submit all of your answers to the case study questions.  You may write directly on the original document or on a separate Word document.  The content should be meaningful and substantive, properly organized, free of grammatical and spelling errors. Use appropriate APA citations (in-text citations, footnotes, etc.) wherever necessary. Partial credit will be given in cases where part, but not all of the answer is given; and/or where part, but not all, of the answer is correct; and/or where an incomplete discussion of issues and answers is given.

For online students, this assignment has two parts with a total of 10 questions, each worth one (1) point, for a total of 10% of your grade. Please be sure to complete all ten questions in both parts of the assignment.  For campus students, this assignment has three parts with a total of 15 questions, each worth one (1) point, for a total of 15% of your grade.  Please be sure to complete all fifteen questions in all three parts of the assignment.  (NOTE: Online students have a discussion board assignment in lieu of the third part of this assignment.)
